Portraits: Sandra Ridley

Sandra Ridley is a brilliant Ottawa poet (originally from Saskatchewan, but why hold a grudge?). She’ll be reading on Wednesday, August 19 at 8 p.m. at Woody’s on Elgin Street as part of the launch for Apt. 9 Press, an area chapbook press that handmakes all its titles. Sandra’s new book is called Rest Cure. Joining her will be two other Ottawa poets with new books: Justin Million (Guzzles) and Monty Reid (A Poem That Ends With Murder).  I don’t know where Justin and Monty are from or what their poetry is like. But Sandra’s is pretty sweet.

  1. Hi,

My name is Cameron Anstee. I run Apt. 9, and had the pleasure of working with Sandra’s poems over the last couple months. Though Justin and Monty aren’t originally from Ottawa either, they do live here now and write excellent poetry.

Thanks so much for promoting this!
    Cheers,
    Cameron.
